Here is a list of other exercises and devices used during my rehabilitation.1. Mirror therapy: Make your own apparatus with some cardboard and a mirror from your local discount store. Tere are many sites that will help you to make your own. Communicate if needed with Tara Packham (packhamt@hhsc.ca) for the instructions and advice on how to do the mirror therapy properly. 2. Contrast-bath: fll one container with cool ice water (19 ˚C) and another with warm water (36 ˚C); put your hand/wrist/forearm in water (for me, up to where the cast was); alternate between warm and ice baths, 30 seconds in the warm and 15 seconds in the cold, for a total of 10-15 minutes. Open and close your fst while your hand is immersed in water. Repeat three times a day. P.S. I started in a double sink, rather than containers, but it is harder on the back.3. Ball: used at the beginning to activate and recognize diferent sensations in my right-hand.4. Tera-Putty: putty designed to meet a wide range of strengthening exercises; it can be squeezed, stretched, twisted or pinched.5. Stretch band: to exercise and strengthen the hand and fngers.6. Highlighter marker: to stretch in between the fngers.7. Exercises at the beginning for my wrist and fngers: Wrist extensor stretch, Wrist fexor stretch, Forearm Supination stretch, Forearm pronation stretch, Wrist Radial/Ulnar deviation (Passive range of motion) and Active Range of motion (Finger Flexion/Extension); also shoulder exercises for my frozen right shoulder. P. S. Hand and arm massage by my husband with Voltaren 3 times a day.
